“In an effort to promote its new line of GTO shoes, the Thom McAn shoe company gave away brand new, limited edition 1967 Pontiac GTO hardtop coupes through a nationwide sweepstakes. All contestants had to do to be eligible to win the car was visit a Thom McAn shoe store and enter the sweepstakes. While there were originally several extremely lucky prize winners, only two of these special cars are now believed to still exist. “The Great One,” as it was named, has become one of the most rare GTOs ever built.  

Our Thom McAn GTO was won by Virginia V. Barth of Saint Louis, MO.  After years of being kept in a garage, with the occasional drive back and forth from the grocery store, the McCreerys would purchase the vehicle in 2002.  In 2014, it was showcased in Pittsburgh, PA at the GTO Nationals where it would be a Concourse Gold recipient.  The vehicle is completely original which makes viewing this vehicle seem like you are in a time capsule.”
